GAME NOTES: With Bartolo Colon going on the DL, Justin Masterson will likely keep his rotation spot a few weeks longer, but Clay Buchholz is grooming himself in Pawtucket and nearly ready to return. Masterson faces the toughest test of his young career in a hitters ballpark against a powerful offense, so keeping the ball down in the zone will be vital. The Red Sox should be able to score runs against Kyle Kendrick (4.54 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, 9 HR, 85 H in 77 IP, 31/24 K/BB), so Masterson needs to keep it close enough to give the offense a chance to pounce.
