Rocco Baldelli hit a two-run homer in the second inning. Then, in the the fifth inning, Baldelli crashed into a wall trying to catch a foul ball.
That’s exactly how Boston’s game went as well. The Red Sox were on pace for a win with a 3-1 cushion over Toronto. Then, Ramon Ramirez hit a wall in the seventh inning.
Ramirez struggled pitching 2/3 of an inning giving up three hits, two runs and the lead. Scott Down secured the win in the ninth with his seventh save of the season.
Goat of the Game – Offense
In the box score Ramirez looks like the goat with the loss tagged next to his name, but the offense was anemic with only four hits to show for themselves on the day.
Next Game – 5/31 vs. Toronto Blue Jays – Jon Lester/Ricky Romero
Boston’s offense has to wake up. And soon.
