Losing streaks don’t happen with Josh Beckett on the mound.
Beckett improved to 6-0 on the season when pitching the next day after a Red Sox loss. He also pushed his record to 10-3 overall yielding two runs on six hits over six plus innings, with one walk and four strikeouts.
Jason Bay hit his 20th homer of the season in the second inning, a solo shot, that tied the game up at 1-1.
Jason Varitek went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Dustin Pedroia also knocked in a run.
