Josh Beckett capped off the first half of the season with a bang.
Beckett earned his 100th career victory pitching a complete game three-hit shutout against the Royals with no walks and seven strikeouts.
Offensively, Aaron Bates went 3-for-4 with an RBI double pacing the Red Sox offense.
Kevin Youkilis had and RBI single in the first and Rocco Baldelli knocked in a run with a double in the eighth.
Star of the Game – Beckett
Beckett was plain filthy last night with every pitch working for him.
Next Game – All Star Break
The Red Sox bullpen certainly needs this break.
