GAME NOTES
Over the past two seasons or so, I have tried to evaluate the Sox not on each individual games, but with series (with varying results of course). A quick Google search of “Kevin Youkilis” + ‘win every series” shows the third baseman’s tendency to cite this as one of the team’s primary goals. After all at team that wins two out of every three games, wins 108 over a 162-game season. Especially after the dreadful start to the season, I believe this is the way to go, at least until the record gets back to respectability. That being said, I am trying not to get too bent out of shape about yesterday’s loss, the series isn’t over yet. But if they lose today, and by result lose the series, the gloves are coming off.

PLAYER OF THE DAY
The second player that the Red Sox received in the Danny MacFayden deal was RHP Hank Johnson. He played 12 years in the big leagues with the Yankees (1925-32) Red Sox (1932-35), Philadelphia A’s (1935) and Reds (1939). Johnson had a reputation for being wild as he led the league in walks (104) and hit batsmen (12) in 1928 and wild pitches (11) in 1930.
