In a world where every plate appearance is magnified by 10x it becomes too easy to slip into a state of panic when your hometown team scuffles their way to a 2-10 start.
I’d be lying to say that I was not sick to my stomach last night watching that 3-0 lead slip away against Toronto. After the 0-6 start, I had figured the Red Sox would be close to .500 ball by this weekend.
Nope.
Bil James’ Pythagorean Theorem says the Sox are one win better than their 2-10 record, but that’s not exactly something we can hang our hats on. There are just too many things going wrong in too many places in too many situations. Crappy luck? Maybe. We hope so.
When you look at the team right now you probably have concerns. This week’s poll is going to address that.
Which Red Sox Currently Concerns You the Most?
You can vote for your choice to the right of your screen. Is it Carl Crawford‘s slow adjustment? How about Clay Buchholz‘ gopheritis? Kevin Youkilis — is the thumb bothering him? Maybe the switch to 3B? What’s up with Daniel Bard? Just sample size?
Let us know who concerns you right now, and if it’s ‘OTHER’ then tell us why in the comments section.
Let’s hope by next weekend this poll looks ridiculous and pointless much like we were hoping last week’s poll was.
Speak of which, the majority of you predicted an 0-6 starts. Though I am sure (know) that a lot of those votes were johnny-come-lately’s. Myself, I voted for 4-2 because I still cannot fathom how this season has begun.
