Fun Facts

– The Red Sox are 17-7 in day games, 3rd best in the Majors.

– Dustin Pedroia has hit safely in 10 straight games, going 15-37 (.405) in that span, with five doubles, one triple, one home run, five RBI, nine runs, and 10 walks.

– On June 26, 1962, Earl Wilson pitched a no-hitter at Fenway Park against the Los Angeles Angels.

– And for today’s Totally Untrue Fun Fact: After his LSD experiment in 1970, Pirates pitcher Dock Ellis tried to pitch while having taken other substances to try to repeat his no-hitter on acid. On July 27, 1971, Ellis only pitched five innings in a loss after having taken syrup of ipecac.
