The trade market is just starting to develop and, while there hasn’t been a ton of noise about any trades that might be on the horizon, the Sox are sure to be looking for any pieces that could possibly help. Before the rumors begin to intensify after the all-star break, let’s hear what you think the Sox should do at the trade deadline. The starting rotation has certainly taken some hits, but the replacement starters have more than held their own. Right field continues to be a concern, but the Sox could move Josh Reddick over there once Carl Crawford returns. How about shortstop? The lack of production from Marco Scutaro and the health issues of Jed Lowrie are both causes for concern and prospect Jose Iglesias doesn’t have much upside offensively at the moment. Are you confident enough in the Salty/V-Tek combo for the second half?

Last week’s poll generated a great response and rightly so. John Lackey was fresh off of a terrible start on the heels of a ton of inconsistency through the season’s first three months.
The majority of you (37%) think, quite simply, “We’re screwed.”
Coming in at a close second was the 32% that are still hanging on to a little hope.
21% think that Lackey will end up being a serviceable 5th starter, which is better than nothing despite his huge salary.
Only 10% think that Lackey will surprise everyone the rest of the way and be a solid pitcher. Well, so far so good based on his last outing!
