The World Series will come to an end this week and a new Champion will be crowned. What does this mean for the Red Sox? It means that the five-day exclusive negotiating period between the front office and the team’s pending free agents will soon be upon us. While it seems unlikely that many, if any, deals will get done during that time, the right approach could give the Sox the upper hand with regard to these players once free agency starts.
