It’s time for a new poll! This one is asking your thoughts on how to get Mark Melancon back to the majors. Melancon has allowed just one run in 15 relief innings for the Pawtucket Red Sox. He’s punched out 23 and walked just two, and it’s obvious now why Ben Cherington traded for him. He should be back in the majors, but there’s one problem. There’s no room!

The poll choices are:

  •
  •
  •

The previous poll asked if Will Middlebrooks should replace Kevin Youkilis. The way Middlebrooks is going, it was going to be very difficult to send him to the minor leagues once Youkilis returned. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending how you look at it) a spot opened up in the outfield, which Adrian Gonzalez has taken over. That’s allowing both Youk and Middlebrooks to stay up, but that can’t last forever.

Should Middlebrooks replace Youkilis?

  • Yes, how can you bench Middlebrooks? Youkilis should hit the bench and play some LF. (44%, 209 Votes)
  • No, but Middlebrooks needs to stay up on the bench or moved to the OF. (26%, 127 Votes)
  • No, Youkilis is one of our best hitters. Option Middlebrooks for now. (17%, 81 Votes)
  • No, Middlebrooks needs to go to AAA, but teach him the outfield there just in case. (13%, 63 Votes)
