Push is coming to shove for the Red Sox to find a first baseman. Mike Napoli should have a home soon, while Adam LaRoche is drawing interest from multiple teams. If he goes back to the Nats, then Washington will have to trade Mike Morse. Oh yeah, Nick Swisher is still out there too.
Which first baseman of those four would you prefer to have manning first next season? Vote and let us know who you picked and why!
The previous poll asked about your reaction to the Red Sox/Blue Jays trade. Here are the results — and by the way, I completely agree with the majority vote. I do find it interesting that the second-most used option of the cost in prospects being too much got 30 percent of the vote. There’s something to be said for bringing in high salaries as long as it doesn’t raze the farm, but you can only really do that through free agency. But by and large, 81% of respondents don’t think any deal should have been made. Sure didn’t seem that way on talk radio when Toronto swung that deal.
Should the Sox have made the Johnson/Reyes/Buehrle trade?
- No! Why get rid of all those big deals (the Dodgers trade) just to repeat the same mistake? (51%, 161 Votes)
- No, the cost in prospects would have been too much. (30%, 95 Votes)
- Yes! Talk about the answer to all the problems. (12%, 39 Votes)
- If it was just Johnson and Reyes, they should have done it. (7%, 23 Votes)
