I’m not one to get too openly angry at the Sox, but they’re blazing some new paths to how to get me frustrated in public. Funny what a 2-8 stretch will do to ya.
- Reasons Tropicana Field is a Dump, #623: The roof & catwalks cause solid defensive infielders like Dustin Pedroia & Mike Napoli to misplay popups. (Red Sox find a new way to lose: a lost popup)
- Our GLORIOUS LEADAH, Hunter Golden, had a pretty astute observation last night. John Lackey basically needs to hurl a perfecto to look good. (John Lackey fades in stretch)
- The Red Sox have only had long relievers pitch on just three occasions – and all were innings-eaters in a blowout loss. Are those kinds of relievers obsolete now? (For Red Sox, long relievers are a thing of the past)
- He was the 3rd-string closer in the bullpen, but Junichi Tazawa has the full support of the Red Sox, but all the pressure that comes with being the closer as well. (Red Sox All In On Junichi Tazawa After Bullpen Shuffle)
- Hindsight’s 20-20, but should Boston really have kept Jonathan Papelbon? I mean, heart attacks aside, his irish jigs were pretty entertaining. (Jonathan Papelbon: Should’ve kept?)*
- Shane Victorino feels fine? That’s a half-miracle right there. I swore he broke a rib or something on that wall. Almost like he just broke or something. (Victorino ‘feels good’ after crash into Fenway wall)
- Twitter After Dark is best Twitter. You cannot deny this statement. (Late Nite Ballplayer Twitter)
Remember, the Red Sox were facing Matt Moore. A LEFTY. Even the right-handed guys couldn’t hit him.
Red Sox RHHs Victorino, Napoli, Gomes, Middlebrooks, Lavarnway a combined 0-for-19, 10 Ks tonight. (Pedroia has lone RH hit for Sox.)
