Well, that series was just a lesson in depression, wasn’t it? Sox get a CG hurled against them twice, and the last game is rained out. Yeesh.

• It’s starting to feel like crunch time, and the dog days of August haven’t even hit yet. At this point, the Red Sox just have to keep on grinding. (With half-game lead, Sox ‘gotta keep going’)

• The Rays’ pitching was absolutely dominant this series. Two complete games in three contests? That’s almost unheard of. Boston just couldn’t keep up. (Rays’ pitchers stellar in rain-shortened series)

• A huge fact regarding Matt Moore & David Price – they were homegrown by the Rays. The Sox have to learn how to cultivate talent like that. (Red Sox could learn a lot from the Rays about cultivating home-grown pitchers)

• You can blame it on the opposing pitching, sure, but the Red Sox have not shown that consistent offense that we’re used to. The hitting struggle is real. (Red Sox bats have disappeared lately)

• With the reliever market so thin and the buyers so many, Boston might take a different stance by the trade deadline when it comes to the bullpen. (Sox might “stand pat” with bullpen)

• Yes, the PED scandals have rocked baseball and its fans. But you know what? Baseball’s still the best. And we still love it. (Psst! Baseball is pretty awesome, dudes)
