Three titles in ten years. For fans much older than me, that kind of optimism would’ve been scoffed at before 2000. This just doesn’t happen. So enjoy it all.
- We’ve taken to calling the amazing 1967 season The Impossible Dream. But after the Red Sox came all the way back again in 2013, the Dream was finally finished. (The Impossible Dream realized)
- As was already stated, this is another stunning title in just a “short” span of ten years. That’s what most people like to call a dynasty, folks. A Red Sox dynasty. (Red Sox redefine what it means to be dynasty)
- You can put all the intangibles on the team – grit, heart, etc., but one thing that shouldn’t be ignored is that these guys were all good in their own right. (No myth for Sox, champs had talent)
- When we think back on these championships, we’ll think of that one player who was the sole constant throughout them all – the legendary David Ortiz. (Ortiz cements himself among Sox greats)
- 2012 wasn’t so great. Ben Cherington knew it. So he made sure 2013 wouldn’t be forgotten for a long, long time. Not bad for his 2nd year as GM. (Ben Cherington executed plan to perfection for World Series champion Red Sox)
- Now that the party’s died down a bit, you can actually go down Yawkey Way and see the shiny new banner hanging from Fenway Park. (World Series banner made in Somerville unfurled at Fenway Park)
- David Ross knows what’s important. He’s still got the final out of the World Series sitting in his locker. (David Ross Has Ball From Final World Series Out)
“Congratulations, Boston. From 69-93 to a World Series title. The curse is well and truly dead.”
– Dave Cameron
