Polls are back! We’ve had a brief couple weeks off as I’ve been busy, you know, graduating from college. But now I’m getting back into the swing of things, and your supply of topical Red Sox polls should go unmolested for some time.
A couple weeks ago, I asked you where you saw Mookie Betts playing in five years. Well, over half of you (54%) agreed he’d still be here in Boston, but not as a second baseman. This is where I fall as well; I think Mookie is too good to let walk, but I don’t think he should displace Dustin Pedroia, either. Another 27% of you see him traded to be a starter for another team, which seems like a logical prediction, because Mookie has developed into the kind of prospect who could conceivably be the centerpiece of a notable trade.
Where will Mookie Betts be playing in five years?
This week, I’m going VERY topical. The Red Sox just re-signed Stephen Drew for the year, with a prorated $14 million contract, in the hopes that he can bolster a lineup that has been notoriously weak against right-handed pitching. With this new development, I’m curious to see what you guys think will happen to the left side of the Red Sox infield.
How should the Red Sox utilize Stephen Drew?
(For clarity’s sake, the “Part-time Shortstop (Platoon with Middlebrooks)” option would involve Bogaerts moving back to short when Drew sits, not Middlebrooks playing short. Nobody wants Middlebrooks playing short.)
Get your votes in, and I’ll have the results and a new poll right here next Monday!
