After a long second half of the 2014 season induced coma, Paul and Tim emerge from their slumbers to discuss the Boston Red Sox offseason moves and start to look forward to a new season — a new hope.

Unfortunately, our old friend Jon Lester won’t be coming on that journey with us. Paul and Tim walk through the negotiations between Lester and the team starting last Spring through his signing with the Chicago Cubs.

Then we talk about the “three amigos” that the Red Sox brought in to fill the pitching staff alongside Clay Buchholz and Joe Kelly. Have the Red Sox done enough? Is an ace still needed or can the Red Sox contend with what they have on the mound?

And lets not forget the offensive upgrades made early this offseason. Paul and Tim discuss the arrivals of Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval and their impact, on what has to be considered, a dramatically improved offense heading into 2015.

All that and more on this week’s edition of Fireside Chats.

Thanks for listening!
