The wheels are totally off the Red Sox wagon. Tim used the following words to describe each and every Red Sox player (manager or general manager) – “below average” and “inconsistent”. In this episode, we dole out pieces of the blame pie (Paul gives Ben Cherrington 50%) and look at all the things that are going wrong with this team right now — ok, I exaggerate, that would be a 10 hour show and we only have 1 hour. Then we start the conversation about how to right the ship and look for any signs of optimism that could make the four game gap in the A.L. East feel less like a ten game deficit.

Lots of the conversation centered around Cherrington’s prize acquisitions of Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval. Are they more a part of the problem or the solution?

All that and more on this week’s edition of Fireside Chats.

Thanks for listening!
