Spring training keeps rolling along and as the roster gets tighter a few key themes begin to emerge out of Fort Myers. The hottest topic this Spring has been the hot corner. Beginning with Pablo Sandoval’s appearance upon entering camp and his performance within coupled with Travis Shaw going all “JBJ Spring 2014” on us, questions have been percolating over who should be the Red Sox starting third baseman.

Aside from Eduardo Rodriguez’s early knee injury health hasn’t really been an issue for the Red Sox this Spring, until this week and Carson Smith. The reliever was supposed to be a key cog in the bullpen arsenal this season. Which pitcher is a potentially bigger loss for the team to start the season?

All that and more on this week’s edition of Down by the River.

Thanks for listening!
