I couldn’t be happier with that result in the Bronx. Two out of three and a good start to the season for many players. Heck, Farrell’s even gotten praise this early.
- Dust has replaced their blood. AARP is just waiting for them to be members. And yet, Andy Pettitte & Mariano Rivera can still get it done against the Red Sox. (Pettitte and Rivera: oldies but goodies)
- #DeathBySingles. The Red Sox mustered a mere three extra-base hits over the series, but still took two of three from the Yankees. A lack of power, however, could present a problem. (Red Sox suffer power shortage at the Stadium)
- I’m not one to blame one play in the 1st inning as the reason the Sox lost, but apparently McAdam sees Shane Victorino‘s attempt to score differently. (Aggressive Victorino may have cost Red Sox win)
- Spray charts. Defensive philosophies. Dustin Pedroia pretty much playing in right field. What does that spell? S-H-I-F-T. (So far, shifting Sox infielders works like a charm)
- Saying John Farrell “led” the Blue Jays to a 73-89 record last year is kind of misleading. Because pretty much all of Toronto’s pitchers were just awful. I’m looking at you, Ricky Romero. (John Farrell Prepares For Life As A ‘Villain Or Bad Guy’)
- Sure, the Red Sox would love to re-sign Jacoby Ellsbury. They’d also love to get all the best players & win the World Series every year for forever. (Red Sox would “love” to re-sign Jacoby Ellsbury)
- Slow and steady wins the race, Stephen Drew. You don’t need to rush back. Just get your work in. (Stephen Drew begins rehab assignment at Double-A)
- Edgar Martinez. David Ortiz. Even Billy Butler. Great hitters have come as the result of the DH. It’s almost time for the last pitchers-must-hit fortress to fall. (The designated hitter is coming)
Y’know, if the Red Sox can’t hit a homer in the Rogers Centre, that’s when I’d start worrying about a power outage.
