It was set up perfectly – a go ahead two-run homer by Jason Bay giving the ball to our closer in the ninth – but it did not turn out perfect as Jonathan Papelbon let up two runs and the Rays came from behind to keep possession of the A.L. East lead.
For Papelbon it was his fifth blown save of the season and for Bay it was his 29th homer of the season.
Goat of the Game: Paps
You obviously go to your closer in that kind of situation and he just did not get it done tonight.
Next Game: You have to win
It would almost be a wasted series if the Sox do not win tomorrow.
