GAME NOTES: On the day the Sox finally admitted that they’re finished in the AL East and Wild Card hunt this season, a rag-tag lineup that included Javy Lopez, Carlos Pena, Dustin Pedroia, Eric Hinske, and Alex Cora – led by starter Julian Tavarez – defeated the Toronto Blue Jays’ ace Roy Halladay to pull 3 up on the Jays and avoid sinking closer to third place. Alex Rios helped out by knocking an Alex Cora shot into the stands for the deciding two-run ‘blast’. Tonight, it’s Sox killer Ted Lilly against… well, Sox killer Kyle Snyder. Hopefully we’ll also see the arrival of some much needed bench help, with the expanding rosters.
