It’s not officially baseball season until we make the switch from talking exclusively about the Red Sox to obsessing over the team in New York with whom the Sox fates are inexorably intwined. Well…I guess it’s officially baseball season then.

Paul and I start the show today talking Spring Training performances. Who has impressed us thus far — Jacoby Ellsbury. And who has us a little nervous — Daisuke Matsuzaka. But how much does the Spring really matter come Regular Season anyway?

From there, we shift gears and start to preview the New York Yankees with our very own Yankee Analyst, Moshe Mandel of the aptly named “Yankee Analysts” blog. Moshe tells us why he thinks the Yankees are the second best team in the A.L. East and what they need to do to contend for a World Series in 2011.

All that and more on this episode of Fireside Chats.

Thanks for listening!
