GAME NOTES: Daisuke Matsuzaka makes his major league debut. Who else is excited? Who else is pumped up? Last night’s game was fantastic. I loved it. I saw some massive poise from Josh Beckett. He was out there pitching, by god. Joel Pineiro was just slinging up the balls and his curve was fantastic. The hitting was very solid, and Mike Lowell got three errors out of the way, which we’ll never, ever see again. The pitching combined for a three-hitter while everyone who started the game except David Ortiz and Coco Crisp got a hit (but the two got on base via walks). After a stinker of Opening Day, last night was fantastic. Can’t wait to see Daisuke Matsuzaka on that mound today.
