Frank Thomas hit three homeruns and drove in 5 RBI’s while Dustin McGowan pitched a complete game in the 6-1 win over the Boston Red Sox.
A two-run homerun in the bottom of the first inning off of Tim Wakefield, another homer off of Wakefield in the sixth inning, that of the solo variety, and his third homerun of the night, a two-run jack in the eighth inning, put Thomas’ season total at 25 as he went 3-4 on the night with three runs as well.
With the three homeruns Thomas now has 512 for his career and is tied with Ernie Banks and Eddie Matthews for 18th on the career list.
McGowan gave up only five hits, one run, no walks, and struck out nine in the complete game win over the Red Sox putting his season record at 11-9 for the Blue Jays.
