Brandon Moss, who tied yesterday’s game on a home-run in the ninth inning has been optioned to Pawtucket. It marked the first time a major league player had hit his first big-league home run in the eastern hemisphere.
Moss started today as well in place of Drew but couldn’t come through with any heroics this time, whiffing three times. He’ll work on improving defense at first-base, and this leaves the Red Sox with four outfielders (Kielty is technically not on the roster), meaning J.D. Drew should be just fine once the regular season really gets underway.
