Other than a disaster start lately, Burres has been surprisingly reliable for the Birds. Still, he’s surrendered 64 H in 60 IP with only 29 K, meaning he’s a pitcher who gives up a lot of contact, and meaning the starting-to-get-hot Red Sox bats have a chance to pound him. His last start against the Yankees: 3.2 IP, 10 H, 8 ER. Look for Ortiz to be out today and Youkilis in the 4-hole.
