The Red Sox walked away from the winter meetings with Mike Napoli at first base, Shane Victorino in right field and Koji Uehara in the bullpen. But now it’s time to address the biggest concern. That’s starting pitcher, where the team really needs to shore up its rotation. That leads us to the next poll question, where Fire Brand wants to know how you think the SP situation should be addressed:

  • Not at all – stay internal (Morales?)
  • Sign Zack Greinke
  • Sign Anibal Sanchez
  • Sign another FA SP (Dempster, McCarthy, etc.)
  • Trade Jacoby Ellsbury for the SP
  • Trade Saltalamacchia/Lavarnway and a SP prospect

The previous poll asked who the preferred 2013 first baseman was. Even before Boston answered the poll question themselves by signing Napoli, he was the most popular answer. Second was Mike Morse of the Nationals, who looks like he’ll end up trade bait if Adam LaRoche returns to Washington.

Who’s your preferred 2013 first-baseman?

  • Mike Napoli (48%, 121 Votes)
  • Mike Morse (17%, 42 Votes)
  • Adam LaRoche (costs 2nd rd. pick) (15%, 38 Votes)
  • Nick Swisher (costs 2nd rd. pick) (11%, 28 Votes)
  • Other (9%, 23 Votes)
