Disappointing end to the road trip. The Sox just can’t beat the Orioles nowadays and that’s an extremely frustrating conundrum.
- Luck, doubles and the Baltimore Orioles. That just about sums up the series, and Sunday’s contest was a perfect example of that. At least there’s the off day. (Another miserable day in Baltimore)
- What used to be a strength at the beginning of the year for Boston has now given way to a weakness – the starting rotation is battered and bruised. (For starters, Red Sox show decay)
- His BABIP may be a ridiculous .507, but Jose Iglesias has been key in this stretch where little has come from the left side of the infield. (How Jose Iglesias Has Become One Of The Red Sox’ Most Important Players)
- The question isn’t if Xander Bogaerts is ready for Triple-A baseball. It’s if Triple-A baseball is ready for Xander Bogaerts. Prepare yourselves. (Welcome to Triple-A, Xander Bogaerts — and welcome to Xander Bogaerts, Triple-A)
- Well, Clay Buchholz is still having trouble with his neck, so you know what that means – more Alfredo Aceves! Just what everyone wanted! (Buchholz still ailing, won’t pitch Tuesday)
- And here he comes. The Rays have decided to call up wunderkind Wil Myers from Triple-A Durham to debut against the Red Sox tomorrow. (Rays recall Wil Myers from Triple-A)
- I don’t think I’ll ever understand the general baseball public’s obsession over Adam Jones. Or Nick Markakis, for that matter. (AL All-Star voting: Nick Markakis among 4 Orioles who might start)
Well, he’s kinda modest, I guess:
DiSarcina on Bogaerts HR: “That ball got real small real quick. It just exploded.” Bogaerts on Bogaerts HR: “That one went pretty far.”
