WE DID IT! Last week’s poll was easily the most contested poll we’ve had to date, as I asked you if the Red Sox should trade Jon Lester (since traded to Oakland for Yoenis Cespedes, as I’m sure you know). Fire Brand readers decided that the Sox should NOT trade Lester, by a margin of ONE VOTE. It was so close, WordPress didn’t round the percentages, and it showed up as 50-50. Wow.

I have to imagine that, if I rephrased that question as “Should the Red Sox trade Jon Lester for Yoenis Cespedes?” the results might have come out at least a little bit differently.

Should the Red Sox trade Jon Lester?

  • No (50%)
  • Yes (50%)
  • This week, with the trade deadline concluded, I’m presenting you with a significant question for the poll. It’s a big one, probably the most important question you’ve ever faced in your time on this website. It’s a seriously controversial issue, one that has torn families and friendships apart. There is only one correct answer. This poll is not for those with weak convictions. Are you prepared?
