The Red Sox bench has been a source of disappointment thus far this season. Before the year began, we expected the Red Sox to hold a bench very capable of getting the job done. Wily Mo Pena was coming off a .301/.349/.489 season and everyone, including Francona (remember the promise), expected Pena to serve as a valuable fourth outfielder.
