So, Buster Olney of ESPN is reporting there are serious problems in the clubhouse, while players like Cody Ross, David Ortiz and Josh Beckett have scoffed at the claims. How about you — what do you think? Is the Sox clubhouse in trouble?
- No, I believe the players and what I have seen.
- There’s no way to know.
- Yes, I believe the recent reports.
- It’s irrelevant to winning on the field.
Here’s the result of the previous poll:
If Youkilis is traded, what should the Sox get back?
- Let’s restock the farm and get young prospects 2-3 years away. (35%, 109 Votes)
- The playoffs are still doable; deal him for immediate help. (34%, 106 Votes)
- It’s time to pack it in. Get help with a focus on 2013. (20%, 61 Votes)
- Trading Youkilis would be a huge mistake. (11%, 34 Votes)
I’m going to go ahead and disagree. As I previously explained, I don’t see a reason why the Red Sox need to rebuild to this level. They can still make the playoffs this year. Yes, really. And next year. And the year after that. My answer would have been in the middle of the next two responses. Get a return for Youkilis that allows for contributions this year and beyond. In other words, get a young player who can play in the majors right now and is under club control for the next few years.
