GAME NOTES: Jon Lester returns from a brief stint in the minor leagues to lock horns with fellow notorious wild hurler Daniel Cabrera. Lester has a 1.41 WHIP on the year, trailing Julian Tavarez, Kyle Snyder and Eric Gagne on the active roster. If the lefty can have a strong September, he may stick in the rotation over Buchholz, giving the Sox a valuable lefty starter in the postseason. Cabrera still hasn’t harnessed his potential. Will he ever?
