Since Clay has since gone on the DL, this may have potentially solved the quandary. Buchholz, struggling as of late, gets a mental break plus his innings limited. David Pauley is expected to draw the start in Buchholz’s plate, then Colon will slide in, meaning they could option Clay to Triple-A once his 15 days are up. Personally, this is the right move.
