TEX 6, BOS 3: Rebound

Dominate pitching at Fenway Park could only last so long. Daisuke Matsuzaka took the hill one game after Jon Lester's near perfect game.

TEX 5, BOS 1: Trade bait

If Brady Penny is going to be traded then this outing didn't help the Boston Red Sox front office.

BOS 10, DET 5: Almost

Josh Beckett didn't need the early run support. He didn't allow a hit until the seventh inning.

Anderson, Bates power Sea Dogs to win

In retrospect, Portland's 6-4 victory over the Connecticut Defenders was a microcosm of the season for Aaron Bates and to an extent for Lars Anderson.

Bates cracked three singles in five at-bats and drove in two runs while Anderson was 2-for-5 (single, double) with an RBI.

And manager Arnie Beyeler continued his "mix-and-match" routine Sunday with T.J. Large and Bryce Cox who combined to make a winner out of starter Jarod Plummer (4-1).

BOS 8, TOR 2: Wide awake

Change can often be difficult. The Boston Red Sox lineup adapted quite easily.

TOR 5, BOS 3: Crash landing

Rocco Baldelli hit a two-run homer in the second inning. Then, in the the fifth inning, Baldelli crashed into a wall trying to catch a foul ball. That's exactly how Boston's game went as well. The Red Sox were on pace for a win with a 3-1 cushion over Toronto. Then, Ramon Ramirez hit a wall in the seventh inning.
