The Science of Selling Felix, A-Gon Short
In our versions of an offseason blueprint the Red Sox could follow (1, 2, 3) one topic that came up fairly often was how realistic or unrealistic our proposed trade packages were for certain players. Let's recap: Mike Lowell, Casey Kotchman, Clay Buchholz and key minor league pieces (defined as anyone sans Kelly, numbering two) for Felix Hernandez. Money comment: Getting King Felix would be nice, but you are crazy thinking Seattle would have any interest in picking up Lowell or Kotchman. Why would they pick up $16+ in salaries? Lowell is going nowhere unless we pay his salary, which is crazy. - MEe Clay Buchholz, Lars Anderson, Manny Delcarmen, Michael Bowden, two "second-tier" prospects to San Diego for Adrian Gonzalez. Money comment: Delcarmen is a stiff. Bowden is a stiff. Anderson has done NOTHING in the minor leagues. Clay Buccholz has major league stuff but has yet to prove himself for an entire season. For this you'll get one of the best young power hitters in the game? I think not!! - Nick If our proposed deals are not up to snuff, that's not good. Let's try to figure out what a proposed deal could, should be.Wholesale Keychain TRIVIA: Batting champion

Reddick Recalled, Wakefield Possible for Saturday, Daisuke Rehabs
-Josh Reddick was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket yesterday. He should provide added depth to an already deep outfield, as well as another option off the bench for pinch hitting duties. Hopefully the outfielder can build off his lackluster start with the big club.
-Tim Wakefield may return to the mound for a Saturday start against the White Sox. Following a cortisone shot on Monday, Wake seems to be feeling better. As ESPN reports, the Sox will wait to see how Wakefield feels on Friday before giving him the go ahead...
Reddick reflects on time in bigs amid AAA struggles
"The biggest thing I learned up there was, as a new guy, to keep my mouth shut and sit back and learn about how those guys carry themselves in the locker room and in the game," he said. "I want to build on that.
"When I got sent back down to Pawtucket, they always tell you not to get that big-league head syndrome. That's what I've been trying to work on. I don't think, in my opinion, I've been that type of guy because I've never been a guy to get a big head and get lazy on the field."
Manager Ron Johnson joined in:
"The ball jumps off his bat when he hits it in BP. When you take BP on a big league field and those guys hit the ball - Red hits the ball like that. Plus, he plays all three outfield positions. He's aggressive. It's going to be fun watching him develop."
New Sox Josh Reddick: ‘Being here has been a joy’
22 years old, Josh Reddick made his major league debut earlier this season when trades and injuries took out first base and outfield depth. Reddick stuck around and impressed many before being optioned down to Triple-A.
With Rocco Baldelli hitting the disabled list, he came right back up. Reddick is hitting .217/.250/.478 with one home run and three doubles in 23 at-bats. His first home run came off of Orioles starter David Hernandez August 2nd. The next day, he cranked his first home run off of Brian Bass.
After an interview last September, Reddick took some time out of his whirlwind days to answer a couple questions about his major league experience.
Baldelli to the DL, Reddick recalled, Youk to the OF, Ortiz to speak
Talk about cramming info into a Quick Post headline....
Going into Yankee Stadium and as much a "do or die" series as the Red Sox have reached this season, things are off to an interesting start. Rocco Baldelli has been sent to the DL after fouling a ball off his foot in batting practice at the Trop. Josh Reddick has been recalled to take his spot on the roster. With Jason Bay out of the lineup tonight as his hamstring is still sore, Kevin Youkilis will be manning left field at Yankee Stadium.
In other news, David Ortiz will address the media regarding his positive 2003 PED test on Saturday before the game.
Reddick optioned to Pawtucket, Traber recalled
After an impressive debut, Josh Reddick finds himself optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket. LHP Billy Traber, 29, is being added to the roster.
Which prospects are untouchable?
With the recent trade rumors flying fast and furious, a lot of Red Sox fans have had to come to grips that significant prospects will have to be given up to get an impact player. There have been some names that is clear the Red Sox are not willing to move; others that I personally go "eek!" at when I hear their names in trade rumors.
So which prospects should be considered untouchable? I have heard two names that the Red Sox consider off-limits, Casey Kelly and Ryan Westmoreland (also Daniel Bard, but now that he's in the bigs, I no longer consider him a prospect). I would add a third to that as well. Let's take a look.
