Coco Crisp and Julio Lugo combined for seven RBI’s, J.D. Drew had one RBI, but a bad call took away a three-run homer from Drew, and Josh Beckett earned his 13th win of the season in the 10-3 defeat over the Chicago White Sox (43-52).
A four run fifth inning was all Josh Beckett needed who went 6 innings, on four hits, three runs, two walks, 10 strikeouts (season high), and gave up one homerun earning the victory and tying him with C.C. Sabathia for the league lead in wins.
That big fifth inning was spear headed by Crisp who tripled to right field clearing the bases scoring three Boston Red Sox base runners Eric Hinske, Jason Varitek, and Lugo.
