- When discussing Johan Santana, Papelbon liked the proposed deal of Jon Lester, Coco Crisp, Justin Masteron, and Jed Lowrie.
- On trading prospects – “You have faith in these young kids … but you don’t know what they will do at a big-league level. You know that with Santana.”
