This week’s poll goes hand-in-hand with the forthcoming trade deadline. While it seems nothing is eminent and team owner John Henry has stated he doesn’t expect much, if anything, to change with his current club, you never know. The Sox have been linked in rumors for some of the biggest names available, including Carlos Beltran and Hiroki Kuroda.
In light of what “could” happen, which prospect is “untouchable” in your eyes? Though Josh Reddick is not technically a “prospect” anymore. I decided to add him as an option, as I’m sure teams have brought his name up in any trade discussion.

*************
Last week, we asked you which pitcher you’d most like to see the Sox acquire in a trade. Here are the results.
Derek Lowe 33% – Lowe blew away the competition, getting 183 of 549 votes. From an objective point of view, I find this sort of odd, given his ERA north of four and that he is owed $15M next season. Still, I understand the romanticism.
Other 14% – Not sure who these 75 voters had in mind. Perhaps the other option was “no-one”.
Edwin Jackson 11% – Hasn’t been linked to the Sox too often, but his peripherals are solid, leading to a 3.20 FIP and 3.41 xFIP.
Hiroki Kuroda 11% – He recently was quoted as saying he would waive his no-trade clause to pitch in Boston or New York.
Erik Bedard 11% – Returns to the Mariners’ rotation on Friday, injuries are always a concern.
Wandy Rodriguez 9% – Under contract through 2012 and has never pitched in the American League.
Ted Lilly 4% – Home runs have been a problem in the National League for Lilly this season. I don’t think moving to the AL east and Fenway Park would help much.
Aaron Harang 3% – 2.92 ERA at PETCO, 4.01 on the road.
Thanks for voting!
