Maureen Mullen from the Lynn Item brings us interesting news.

“There’s something I been meaning to tell you about the 500 home runs,” Ramirez said. “I don’t want to hit 500 right now. I want to wait a little while. No one is talking about it. No one’s excited about it. I want to wait until everyone’s excited about it.”
Asked if he was excited at the prospect of reaching the milestone, Ramirez scrunched his face, shook his head, and replied:
“Nah. Five hundred? No, I’ll be excited for 600.”
“No, I don’t want to do it,” he said. “I’m going to do it on the West Coast.”
Told that none of the sluggers who had reached the 500 homer milestone before him had done so at Fenway Park, he remained steady.
“That’s OK,” he said, shrugging his shoulders. “I’m going to wait.”

Okay, Manny. I don’t know what’s so appealing about the West Coast, nor why you’re choosing NOT to hit homers… but wow. I’m tempted to say Manny being Manny, but I think this is going way too far… thoughts?
